FAQ
How much does a resin driveway cost?
- No one job is ever the same – and the cost of each job depends on a few factors:
- the area to be covered;
- the base on which it is to be laid upon;
- the preparation work we need to undertake to get the base correct
- and finally, any additional work that needs to be undertaken.

Why should I choose a resin driveway ahead of other traditional options?
We’ve got a page devoted to that answer. Click here to read it!
What groundworks and preparation do you need to undertake?
When laying resin over an existing surface, preparation is key to a permanent and quality finish – and we need to lay it on the correct surface in order to validate your guarantee. We prepare the groundwork ourselves, so you don’t need to worry about that.
There’s no job too big or small either, so please don’t worry about getting in touch for a quote.
How long before we can use the drive or surface?
Your new driveway or surface should be left for 6 hours before being walked on and 24 hours before driving on.
How do I clean it?
It’s easy! Jet washing is the best way to clean resin bound surfaces – and we recommend giving it an occasional clean with a stiff brush. We offer our power cleaning services at a reduced rate as part of our aftercare and maintenance – but you can do this yourself if you have the time or the incline to!
Because it’s porous, do we not need drains?
Resin is porous and will handle light to moderate rain and will naturally soak away. On dips and inclines, drainage is always recommended to handle heavy downpours.
If we have a concrete drive, won’t the water just sit under the resin?
That depends. The water will just pass through the resin and run off with the natural run of the land. However, if there is an area known to hold water we would advise that drainage is installed.
Can resin be laid over flagstones or block paving?
No. Resin should only be laid over a solid base to warrant a guarantee. Also with the resin being permeable the outline of the flags can start to show through after a couple of years. Never use a company who will agree to lay over flagstones or block paving.
Because the resin can hold water, won’t it crack or pop when the water freezes?
The nature of this product doesn’t allow water to penetrate the stone because it’s all coated in resin. It’s tested to temperatures down to -50C and is BBA certified – meaning it can be used on public walkways and highways.
How long will my new drive last?
Nothing really lasts forever, but resin is very hard wearing. We offer a 10 year guarantee and the manufactures who carry out extensive tests claim around 20 years before small but easily fixable problems may occur.
Is this cheaper than the alternatives, such as tarmac or block paving?
Yes! In fact, it can be up to 50% cheaper than tarmac and block paving! However, the existing surface needs to be in favourable condition so that the resin can be applied directly.
What will your 10 year guarantee cover my drive against?
We cover against cracking, oil damage, loose stone, colour change or damage from the sun, frost damage and workmanship. A properly maintained surface should last 20 years or more.
What areas do you cover?
We cover all of Yorkshire for residential installations. However, we cover all of the UK for commercial installations.
What kinds of work do you do?
We do both residential and commercial work – including driveways, paths & walkways, patios, car parks, swimming pool surrounds, rubber crumb surfaces and tree pits.
How and when do I pay?
You can pay in full by cash, cheque or BACs once the job has been completed.
